Dear Sen. No More Cuts:
I am a graduate of Iowa State University and live in your district. I am employed by Wells Fargo, a company
that truly believes in this community and the future economic and quality of life matters of our state.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing attention to the future budget of Iowa
State University. I encourage your support of faculty salary increases in FY2005. This is an investment that
will result in tremendous dividends for the citizens of the State of Iowa and recognition of Iowa State
University as one of our state's most valuable resources. Your support will continue to make an impact on
the university and will be perceived as important in the eyes of other legislators and the general public.
Support for the 2004-2005 budget will also be important so that key initiatives, like the bio-economy,
becomes a reality. The goal of attracting and retaining highly educated and skilled graduates, in
addition to new business ventures, will certainly be attainable with this initiative in place.
Again, my congratulation is sent your way regarding your vision and leadership. Please let me know, in
writing, your position on fully funding faculty salaries in FY05.
